Why We Started Redwell

A personal introduction to red light led to months of testing, better questions and a simple idea: make the experience easier to understand and easier to use.

Redwell did not begin with a product catalogue. It began with a personal introduction to red light therapy during Lili’s recovery from a shoulder injury in late 2024. Thomas started using it too around running and training. What interested us was not a dramatic promise. It was whether a simple light-based routine could become something we would actually use consistently.

We are Thomas and Lili, founders of Redwell. That first experience led us to spend months comparing devices, asking questions about wavelengths, output, format and usability, and thinking about what people really need from red light therapy in everyday life.

A personal introduction to red light therapy

In late 2024, a shoulder injury changed Lili’s normal routine. During recovery she was introduced to red light therapy, and we began trying a device ourselves. Rather than treating that first experience as proof of anything, we paid attention to the practical details: how sessions felt, how the device fit into the day and whether we wanted to keep using it.

Thomas began using red light around running and strength training too. Two different routines led to the same question: could this technology be useful enough to become a consistent part of everyday wellness?

Six months of testing, not one big claim

We spent roughly six months researching, ordering samples and comparing different red light devices. We looked at wavelengths, output, controls, size, setup and the small usability details that specifications alone do not explain.

We also let friends, relatives and athlete contacts try different formats and listened to what felt intuitive, what created friction and what people actually wanted to repeat.

That process shaped an idea that still guides Redwell: specifications matter, but the experience matters too. Strong technology is only useful when people understand it and can realistically make space for it.

Why everyday use mattered

Red light therapy is not only about what happens inside a device. It also has to make sense in a room, in a schedule and in the way someone already looks after themselves.

That practical side became central to Redwell. A compact setup for the face, a home panel and a full-body system for a professional space solve different problems. We wanted the differences to be easy to understand without turning product selection into a technical exercise.

Our goal became simple: strong technology, clear guidance and formats people can feel comfortable using consistently.

From a personal routine to Redwell

That is how Redwell began: not from one dramatic result, but from curiosity, testing and the belief that red light therapy could be presented more clearly.

We wanted a brand that could speak about the technology without making wellness feel clinical, and that could work across different routines and spaces without losing simplicity.

Redwell Life is part of that idea. It is where we explain the technology, share practical routines, compare formats and document what we learn as the Redwell community grows.

Your wellness starts here.

Redwell began with two people asking better questions about a technology they had only just discovered. The answer was not to make bigger promises. It was to build a better experience around the light.

Redwell Life follows the same approach: clear education, useful routines, product guidance and stories from the people and places that shape the brand.

Thank you for being here at the start.
